cam hopkins

CAM HOPKINS

Cam is from Thomaston, Georgia, and has spent his entire life in the woods and on the water. Hunting, fishing, camping, canoeing, boating and water skiing have taken him all over the U.S., Canada, and even to Argentina. He and his two brothers were effectively raised outdoors and this lifestyle certainly spawned his passion for fly fishing. Although he mostly fished the rivers of the Southeast near his home and mountain lake house, it was vacations out west with his family where developed his great love for this region's waters. Upon graduating from the University of Georgia, he immediately headed to Jackson Hole to pursue this dream of guiding. Coupling this passion with his enjoyment of people and ease of friendship, it is very natural that Cam has joined World Cast and its team of professionals.

For good fishing, good times, and great memories, call Cam.

ERIK WHITE

Erik White was raised in Truckee, California just north of Lake Tahoe in the Sierra Nevada Mountains. Growing up in the Sierras meant Erik was exposed to skiing, hiking, biking and fishing. While studying for his BA in Graphic Arts, his spare time was consumed with whitewater rafting in the Sierras. His enthusiasm for whitewater evolved and spurred a ten year whitewater guiding career, bringing him all over Northern California, Colorado, Arizona, Mexico, and finally to Idaho where he conducted wilderness trips on the Middle Fork of the Salmon. It was the crystal clear waters of the Middle Fork of the Salmon that sparked his love for fly fishing; Silver Creek, Big Wood, Little Wood, and the Big Lost Rivers confirmed this passion. After seven seasons guiding for Hyde Outfitters, the Teton, Henry's Fork, South Fork Snake and Madison are now under his belt. Erik believes that a good day fishing should not only include catching fish, but also should be an escape into the beauty of these amazing rivers!

GEORGE WHITE

I started fly-fishing when I was four years old. My dad would take me fishing for Salmon and Steelhead every chance he got on the fabled Pere Marquette, and Muskegon rivers in Northern Michigan. I fell in love with guiding river trips in West Glacier, MT the summer before my freshman year of college, and knew then that I wanted to spend the rest of my life on the wild rivers of the west. I love catching trout, and I love a great day out on the water with friends. When not harassing trout with hooks, I spend my time with my daughter Ophelia discussing high flows, and lost fish.

GORDON HIGHT

Gordon feels fortunate to have grown up hunting and fishing and been shown the ways of the gentleman sportsman by his father and grandfather, learning the essential elements of safety, skill, and etiquette. Since then, he has fly fished 19 states across the country for various species of salmon, steelhead and trout. For over a decade, Gordon pursued his passion for teaching, working in secondary education as a teacher of US History and Economics, lacrosse coach, and Upper School principal at Darlington, where fittingly, a fly rod was kept close at hand enabling early evening trips to the lake for largemouth bass. A graduate of the University of Virginia and the University of Georgia's Terry School of Business, Gordon is passionate about college athletics, but more importantly helping create lasting memories on the river.

Mike Bias

MIKE BIAS

I began fly fishing at the age of 12, and have fished with nothing but a fly rod since. I spent my childhood catching native brookies in New Jersey and Pennsylvania. I fished throughout Maine while attending college. In the mid-80s, I moved out West to attend graduate school and hit fly fishing pay dirt. I lived within casting distance of one of Northern California's great steelhead rivers.

I'm one of the most fortunate 'sons-a-guns' I know. I'm lucky enough to guide on much of the West's greatest wild trout waters.

While guiding, I split my time among Twin Bridges, Montana and Island Park, Idaho. My home is now in Twin Bridges, MT where I am self-employed as an ecologist.

MIKE MEDVECZ

Originally from the Midwest, Mike spent his youth exploring the lakes and river systems of northern Wisconsin and Michigan's Upper Peninsula. Even with the distraction of the many spring fed creeks and rivers within the vicinity of UW-Madison, he earned undergrad and graduate degrees studying wildlife biology and environmental monitoring, including a few courses in entomology. After graduating, Mike followed his passion for open spaces and wild trout where his enthusiasm for the sport of fly fishing became an obsession. Continuing wildlife work allowed him to fish many remote and pristine areas of the Northwest and much of Alaska. Several years later, Mike has decided to make his living doing what he enjoys most. Mike takes pleasure in teaching others and finds as much satisfaction in seeing his friends and clients catch fish as he does in catching them himself.
