A graduate of St. Lawrence University in 1996, Mike moved to Denver, where he received a MBA in Marketing from University of Denver Daniels College of Business in 2000. Mike Dawkins, Business Development/Retail Manager Mike grew up in Nashville, TN and developed a passion for fishing and hunting at a very young age. By the age of 12, the fly rod had become a staple in every outdoor adventure and Mike began learning to fly-fish for smallmouth and TVA Tailwater Trout. While attending Miami University, Mike created and implemented a fly-fishing program for the university's Outdoor Education Center that included clinics, workshops, and trips for students and faculty members and is now listed as a Miami University accredited class. Upon graduation, Mike moved West and started his career with the Orvis Company in their Cherry Creek store in October of 2004. He quickly moved up through the ranks and was promoted to Fishing Manager in the Jackson Hole store in February of 2005. During his tenure at the Jackson Hole store, Mike showed his attention to detail, excellent customer service and leadership skills and was selected as Orvis Fishing Manager of the Year for 2006. Mike is also actively involved in local conservation issues; in fact he is a board member for our local Trout Unlimited and Ducks Unlimited chapters. When not fishing the local area rivers, Mike can be found swinging for giant B-run steelhead in Idaho, sitting in a duck blind, or chasing Pronghorn in the Southern Wyoming.
Tim Brune, Outfitting Manager Born on Long Island, New York it didn't take long for Tim to discover the waters of Montauk, Martha's Vineyard, Block Island and their offshore canyons. When not pursuing stripers and tuna the Adirondack Mountains of northern New York served as a second home where trout and deer hunting were his primary focus. After Syracuse University Tim returned to Montauk to pursue his love of salt water fishing. After chartering and guiding for numerous years, Tim started working for the Orvis Company in various locations until finally arriving in Jackson, Wyoming in 1999. Tim has worked for WorldCast Anglers for several years as operations manager and instructor. When not in the office he can be found on various local rivers and saltwater destinations worldwide.
Philip Chavez Born and raised in Northern California, Philip developed a passion for the outdoors at an early age. "For as long as I can remember, our family vacations always included camping and fishing in the Sierra Nevada Mountains of Northern California and throughout the Western Rockies." After discovering fly fishing at the age of thirteen, Philip began a lifelong search of all things fly fishing. In 1997 he moved to Idaho to be closer to the famed Henry's Fork and the waters of the Yellowstone-Teton region. In 1998, fate intervened as Philip found himself managing a fishing lodge and outfitting service right on the Henry's Fork. A 1983 graduate of Fresno State, Philip is also a certified FFF casting instructor. "I'm excited to join the WorldCast Anglers staff and to be able to continue a pursuit of fly fishing that started as a wide-eyed little kid who's first thought was that fly fishing was 'cool'."
