The Madison River

Many Anglers consider the Madison River to be one of the best fly-fishing rivers anywhere in the United States for the pursuit of wild trout. This famous River, framed by natures splendid handiwork and colorful seasonal changes found only in the majestic Rocky Mountains, is a treat for each angler. Phenomenal insect hatches provide excellent fishing with dry flies, nymphs, and streamers. Early season fishing consists primarily of streamer and nymph fishing with occasional insect hatches on the warmer days of spring. The end of the spring runoff signals the beginning of the major dry-fly season, including the much-anticipated salmonfly hatch. Stoneflies, caddis, and mayflies, along with terrestrials keep these trout fat and healthy all summer. Fall frosts signal the brown trout spawn. Streamer fishing becomes the order of the day. So if a fast moving, scenic, and a fish filled river is on your vacation plans, give the Madison a try.
