Firehole River Yellowstone National Park
Flow: 235 cfs [08/25/10 09:12 AM]
Water temps are very warm on the Firehole this time of year but fishing can be ok early in the morning. Looks for terrestrials, left over PMD's and Caddis. Look for the Firehole to start fishing better as we get some more consistent cooler nights and days.

Flat Creek Jackson, WY
Flow: 60 cfs [08/25/10 09:13 AM]
Fishing on the Elk Refuge has been tricky, but that's what we expect. Fishing in the early morning and evening has been the best with the occasional fish eating a hopper in the afternoon. Arm yourself with every technical PMD and Rusty Spinner that you can find as well as small hoppers. Patience is key. Look for Mahoganies on cool overcast days.
Green River Warren Bridge, Wyoming
Flow: 204 cfs [08/25/10 09:14 AM]
The Green has been slowing down lately. Similar to allot of rivers in the area, the prime window has been in the morning and late in the evening. Look for PMD's and Caddis. Hoppers will become even more important as they grow bigger in hot windy days of August. Fishing will continue to improve on the Green as cooler nights start pushing in.

Henry's Fork Island Park, Idaho
Flow: 910 cfs [08/25/10 09:18 AM]
Hopper fishing has started to pick up on the Ranch and lower water. The Box has beeen fishing well with shallow nymph rigs (small rubber leg size 10, with a flash prince dropper size 18). This time of year a little breeze helps get the hoppers in the water!
If you are planning a trip to the HF or need a cabin for a night, feel free to give us a call, 208-315-4411.

Salt River Star Valley, Wyoming
Flow: 486 cfs [08/25/10 09:15 AM]
The Salt has been fishing very well right now. Hoppers and PMD's have made up the vast majority of the hatches. If you are looking to get off the beat path, try out the Salt as it receives little pressure compared to the Snake and South Fork.

Snake River Jackson, WY
Flow: 4950 cfs [08/25/10 09:16 AM]
Flows are above Palisades Reservoir. The Snake is fishing very well. Small Chernobyl paired with droppers have been catching a lot of fish. Small Mayfly patterns can fool those fish that have seen a lot of foam. Hopper patterns are starting to produce fish; try a morrish hopper. Wading small side channels, riffles and gravel bars can get you away from some of the other boat traffic.

South Fork of the Snake Irwin, Idaho
Flow: 8870 cfs [08/25/10 09:19 AM]
Riffles are still stacked with fish eating PMD's and leftover Sallies. Hoppers are making quite a ruckus on the Lower river from Byington to Lorenzo and the canyon section is still solid with all dry fly fishing. Mahoganies are starting to hatch on cloudy overcast days. This is one summer not to miss fishing the South Fork!!!

Teton River Teton Valley, Idaho
Flow: 349 cfs [08/25/10 09:20 AM]
Water temps have warmed up on the Teton and turned the fishing into an early morning and late evening event. PMD's and Caddis are still strong in the valley as well as the beginning of the hopper fishing. Hopper fishing has continued to improve on the upper river. The Canyon and lower water has been fickle with increase water temps. Try to get down there early and get off the water early.
