Fly fishing Bechler River

bechler.jpgThere are two areas to fish Bechler. The first is located a short one-mile walk from the Ranger Station. The short hike will put you right on the River and catching smaller, but fun, fish. If you want more of an adventure, then head to the Bechler Meadows with your guide. This hike is a good one -- 5 miles. Once there, you will find a beautiful river full of large rainbows. Use hoppers, black leach patterns, and nymphs. Enjoy sight-fishing at its best for very large fish. Long leaders and down stream casts to targeted fish are essential to success here. The Bechler fishes best from July through the close of the season in October.
