“I have always been a big supporter of Boise, Idaho based, Waterworks-Lamson, so I was eager to test out Lamson’s new Liquid reel. Waterworks-Lamson is known for building high-quality durable fly reels with strong and smooth drag systems. The Liquid reel is certainly no exception.

For the past several weeks I have been putting the Liquid through the ringer to prove its performance over the higher priced machined reels in my arsenal. Designed with a large arbor and a 2.5lb max drag, the Liquid is prepared to reel in line quickly and battle large trout. The easy to us drag nob makes on the fly drag adjustments a breeze. The liquid is also astonishingly light and balanced seamlessly with a variety of 5 and 6 weight rods.

Lamson offers a “Liquid 3-pack” that comes with a reel, two extra spools and a carrying case for the price of a reel and one spare spool ($150). The WCA Fly Shop even has a line combo kit for these 3-packs! The 3-pack is ideal for anglers like me who want to carry multiple fly lines and makes switching to a sink tip line when the clouds roll in a simple task. The Lamson Liquid brings the heat with its superior design and performance at the entry-level price point. “
