Crystal Creek Lodge Trip Report:

Crystal Creek Lodge

The Trip of a Lifetime!

Crystal Creek Lodge Trip Report

“Writing this review it is impossible to put into words how amazing Crystal Creek Lodge is. You simply must see it for yourself. I am still excited when I think about my first “Alaskan Experience” even a couple months later, and can’t wait to go back! Crystal Creek is truly the last frontier, with 5-star accommodations.5-star meals locally sourced if possible..Chef Brian goes above and beyond any bar that could possibly have been set. The lodge is immaculate and offers many amenities, they even have a Masseuse on site if you would like a massage at the end of the day! Dan Michels and staff exceeded all expectations I had and their enthusiasm showed on all levels.

Crystal Creek Lodge Trip ReportThe fishing is unparalleled in North America for Cold Water Fishing: Rainbows, Artic Char, Dolly Varden, and Grayling are just some of the species we fished for, and this was the peak time of the year for those fish as well. The rainbows were the most exciting for me to fish for.  We used 13’6″ spey rods with Steelhead type leech patterns. These Rainbows are some of the largest in the world! my friend Ben Rogers who is a WCA guide caught a 32″ fish, truly the fish of a lifetime! We fished 9′ 8 weights for all other species. You are welcome to bring your own gear, but they have everything at the lodge if you choose to travel light. I packed my own waders and rainjacket, but used their rods and reels.

One of the things that really made the trip special for me was the lodge setting, we all showed up as strangers, but became fast friends through shared experiences and time together at Crystal Creek lodge. We have limited space available for this very special and discounted week. If you are looking to have your own “Alaskan Experience” I encourage you to contact Chris Littauer to reserve your spot for the Trip of a Lifetime.”
